Moving Forward, Together: Let’s All Play By the Rules

The past few days have seen a flurry of phone calls from a few of our own agents to our brokers with complaints that agents at other companies are continuing to show houses. “Why do I need to turn down requests when my competitors are out there presumably doing business?” Because right now it’s the requirement in the State of Pennsylvania, and the more compliant everyone is with the “shelter-in-place” provision, the sooner we all can go back to business as usual. One brokerage in the state already was fined due to violating the governor’s order.

If you are a seller or buyer and you wonder if it’s really true that your agent cannot show you property, we assure you that in Pennsylvania it is true. Agents are risking not only their health and the well being of those around them, they the may be putting their licenses at risk if they show property. Showings continue in New Jersey and New York.

We are pleased to offer video and/or virtual tours of properties. We know it’s not the same as seeing a home in person, but we would rather keep our clients, agents and staff healthy so when the timing is right, we are working together to help you identify the property that checks all of your boxes.
