On December 17, Donald and Douglas Pearson hosted A Day at Sotheby’s in New York City to recognize and celebrate our 2024 top agents. The experience brought our highest-performing agents into the heart of one of the most iconic institutions in the global art and luxury world at a pivotal moment in its history.
Guests were among the first to experience Sotheby’s auction house at its new home in the Breuer Building on Madison Avenue. Designed by renowned modernist architect Marcel Breuer, the landmark building has long held cultural significance in New York, previously housing the Whitney Museum of American Art and later serving as Met Breuer and Frick Madison. Its transformation into Sotheby’s global headquarters marks a new chapter for the institution, blending architectural legacy with contemporary vision.
The day included a private tour of Sotheby’s galleries, offering an inside look at how the historic space has been reimagined for exhibitions, auctions, and client experiences. Agents explored curated gallery spaces and gained insight into the auction process from a behind-the-scenes perspective.
The experience culminated with attendance at a live auction presented by Concierge Auctions, where agents witnessed world-class bidding in action and the strategic dynamics behind high-profile sales.
More than a celebration, A Day at Sotheby’s reflected the shared values that connect our brokerage with the Sotheby’s name: excellence, global perspective, and a deep appreciation for art, architecture, and place. It was a fitting way to honor our top agents while immersing them in an environment where culture and commerce meet at the highest level.
