EUROPEAN DECORATIVE ARTS AUCTION
Sotheby’s is Delighted to Present Collections: European Decorative Arts, an Auction Featuring a Wide Variety of European Furniture and Decorative Objects.
THE EXHIBITION, STYLIZED BY NEW YORK-BASED PHOTOGRAPHER AND DESIGNER JUDY KIM, WILL OPEN ON 13 OCTOBER IN OUR NEW YORK GALLERIES AND WILL CONTINUE UNTIL OUR AUCTION ON FRIDAY 27 OCTOBER.
The sale is highlighted by property from the Lesley and Emma Sheafer Collection, Deaccessioned from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which includes a selection of German furniture and silver-gilt as well as several Meissen porcelain birds.
Other highlights of the auction include a Louis XV style commode by François Linke, a large pair of ormolu and porphyry obelisks, and an Italian mirror attributed to Giuseppe Maria Bonzanigo.
